The day started off with me riding to the track at 7:30am, mind you the temperature of the truck rearview mirror clearly indicated 39 degrees (can you say bbbuuuuurrrrrrr)! Although as uncomfortable as that sounds it really wasn't that bad. Not to mention, my husband did give me the option to load my bike and he would ride (since we don't have a trailer to haul the bikes in yet). Nonetheless, I rode and that worked out great because I got to get comfortable on my bike again, since I haven't rode in about 3-4 months.
The day gradually got warmer, right up until the wind kicked in. OMG! It was chilly to begin with but the wind just made it downright COLD! So there we are chivering and anxiously waiting our turn to run...
My first run was not bad but not great. I ran a 11.11 @ 131.79mph with a .520 reaction time (totally sleeping at the tree) and a 2.098 60' mark - OUCH! Yeah not gonna win anything with that kinda time. So now we've run once and the chivering begins again, as the time between runs is about an hour. The next run is my last qualifying pass, I gotta get a better reaction time in order to qualify well...
Second run... I ran a .302 reaction (HOORAY!!!) that's better but alas still not good enough! However, this time I ran a 11.00 @ 132.51mph with a 60' time of 2.006 (going in the right direction). Now this has significant meaning because the fastest I've been able to run, even when I ran my 10.75 was 131mph. I reached a new track high! WooHoo!!! I am stoked!
1st Round Eliminations... did just that. Eliminated me! The ladder paired me (the second worst reaction time) to the guy with the second best reaction time! Oh crap! Only - keep hope I think, after all it is racing and anything can happen. So I put my game face on and get up to run... I dialed a 10.97 and he dialed a 11.20. I'm thinking... well if I break-out, I'll be happy and if I win I'll be happy, right?? Ordinarily that is the optimistic thing to think. Unfortunately, what I was thinking and what happened where two different things. I did a .213 out of the hole (ALRIGHT, I'm getting better) but my reaction time was worse (2.104)...CRAP! And to make the wound that much more painful... as I leave I hear him miss a shift and if I was on my game I could have maybe beat him. Unfortunately, I did not. I ran a 11.39 @ 130.45mph to his 11.30 @ 116.91mph. Overall CRAP!
Oh well... better luck next time! Now it's back to track to practice reaction and 60' times!

ET Series - Team Sacramento
Providing the weather holds out for us, looks like Sunday will be our first race of the 2006 season! It is the onset of Team Sacramento's 2006 ET Series that will run approx. every two weeks at Sacramento Raceway, Sacramento, CA. Thus far the weather says it is suppose to be sunny and I keeping my fingers crossed that for once they are correct. No tellin' what the results will be, as I've made no physical changes to the bike and have not ridden in a good 3 months. Therefore, I can only hope that the same holds true for some of the other racers. I'd at least like a shot at making it to second/third or even final round. Stay tuned Monday for an update on race results!

2006 Season
We are off to a great start this season! I was able to obtain sponsorship through Simpson Racing and Joey still maintains his sponsorship through PCP Yamaha & Suzuki. Although my sponsorship with Simpsion Racing is small, it's a start!
My first opportunity back at the track (post winter break) was set for January 1, 2006. Unfortunately, mother-nature had alternate plans and it was cancelled due to rain. The make-up date is scheduled for Sunday, January 22, 2006. Not sure if Joey will run on this day or wait until NMRA (National Motorcycle Racing Association) starts in March.
I'm considering joining Team Sacramento for ET/Bracket racing and/or NMRA. ET/Bracket racing is fun and challenging, either way!
