I'm not one to be jealous, but I have to admit I am on this.
A good friend of ours (his daughter) who is 17, well she has been riding/racing her GSX-R1000 that is slammed, has thicker clutch springs, new sprocket, extended swingarm, air shifter, some other minor modifications (no motor work), modified seat and most important a throttle stop positioned @ half throttle. There is HUGE significance in the throttle stop and I'll explain...
We got her into racing last year, previously she raced her car. Which both her and her sister were phenominal at. It runs in there family, somehow, as soon as I figure out the magic - I'M ALL OVER IT. Anyway, she has been gradually getting better and better. First she was right around my times, 10.7s - 10.8s... then she got down to 10.0s which is great. Well, this weekend she took the cake. She made the last run of the day, due to weather and popped out an incredible 9.96 @ 139mph. Now remember when I mentioned the throttle stop? The reason this has significance is because she was able to pull off a 9.96 on a stock motor GSX-R1000 with ONLY half of the power that bike can produce. Some of the guys we race have a hard time running 9.90s on a Hayabusa. Let's compare cc's - GSX-R1000 = 998.6 cc's FULL THROTTLE... vs. Hayabusa = 1299 cc's. She is pulling off amazing numbers with HALF THROTTLE and she just continues to get better.
Way to go girl!
I'm VERY excited for her, but at the same time VERY jealous. She is reaching numbers in less then a years time, that it takes people who have done this there whole life see after years and years of practice and thousands of dollars spent.
